Fees, Scholarships and Bursaries

The fees detailed are the termly fees for the current academic year and are subject to annual review.

*The tuition fee includes art, computing, drama, music and sport in the curriculum; swimming in selected year groups; and a full programme of educational day trips. The charge for lunch is payable in addition to the tuition fee.

Additional Information

The fee to register is £225. On acceptance of your child(ren)’s place you will be required to pay a deposit of £3,450.

Details of how and in which circumstances the deposit is refunded are contained in the Terms and Conditions (Parent Contract).

A sibling discount is available for families with more than one child attending Thomas’s concurrently. This is applied at 1.5% for a second child, 5% for a third, and 10% for fourth and subsequent children.

Public examinations such as GCSE and A Levels are charged at the cost defined by the relevant examination board. Examination costs are not subject to VAT.

Clubs run by College staff are complimentary. Only a small number of clubs that are run by external specialists (e.g. riding, chess, golf) are charged extras.

Other extra optional items such as music lessons, expeditions and residential trips will be charged in the arrears at the end of each term.

Shuttle bus: the cost of the shuttle bus that runs between the College and Richmond Station at the beginning of the school day is included in tuition fees.

Home-to-College Coach Service: this service is new for September 2026, and will operate in conjunction with our travel partners, Vectare. The termly cost will be £516 for mornings only and £630 for mornings and afternoons.

Master’s Awards 11+/13+

Master’s Awards recognise outstanding promise and commitment in sport, drama, music, art and dance.

There are two levels of awards: Exhibitions worth £750 annual tuition fee remission and Master’s Awards worth £1,500 of annual tuition fee remission. The tuition fee is reduced by the value of any Exhibitions or Awards before VAT is calculated. Holders are expected to represent and support the College through their talents. Both levels of award are reviewed annually.

Candidates are welcome to apply for up to two Master’s Awards, although it is rare to be awarded more than one.

Candidates seeking a Master’s Award for 13+ entry into 2029 undertake assessments in the Michaelmas term of the year prior to entry.

Our Master’s Awards are unique and reflect both traditional scholarship areas, as well as more innovative skills and attributes that are vital for the next generation.

There are two levels of awards: Exhibitions worth £750 annual tuition fee remission and Master’s Awards worth £1,500 of annual tuition fee remission. Master’s Awards also include leadership opportunities within the chosen discipline.

Thomas’s Scholarships

Thomas’s Scholarships are awarded to those who excel in our selection assessments at 11+, 13+ and 16+. They are highly sought-after and restricted to a small group of genuinely outstanding candidates. There is no need to register to be considered for a Thomas’s Scholarship: awards are made automatically to the highest performers in a process that encourages a diversity of excellence.

Thomas’s Scholarships vary in value. It is likely that most will be between 10% and 20% remission of tuition fees.

All holders of Thomas’s Scholarships also have access to additional means-tested funding where applicable, up to 100% fee remission.

Other Means-Tested Support

We are passionate about needs-blind access to education. While we develop our foundation, this is presently restricted to holders of Thomas’s Scholarships. This means that any student winning a Thomas’s Scholarship can access their place, regardless of means or income.

Payment of Fees

School fees are due on, or before, the first day of term. If you wish to withdraw your child from the School, you must either give a term’s notice or pay a term’s fees in lieu of notice. Full details are set out in the Terms and Conditions (Parent Contract).
