OUR COMMUNITY AND PARTNERSHIPS
The best schools are communities in which every member feels valued. They also connect to the world around them to share opportunity and help every student understand one of our key values: givers, not takers.
Through meaningful partnerships with local organisations, employers, and external agencies, we enrich our curriculum and broaden opportunities for all learners. These partnerships enhance our unique education, ensuring our students develop the skills, confidence, and experiences needed to be fully prepared for life beyond Thomas’s College.
We are committed to working in collaboration with others both in our neighbouring community and with those in the wider world. We view these partnerships as critical tools for tackling disadvantage and promoting equality of opportunity and cultural development.
Partnership work also enables us to support key objectives within and beyond our wider school communities.

We have also established links with and are exploring opportunities with the Cambrian Community Centre, Holly Lodge Centre, Richmond Soup Kitchen, and Vineyard School.
As we develop more activity in this area, we are committed to the 1:1 principle. Every time we bring opportunity into the College for the benefit of our students, we seek to have other young people involved and benefiting on a 1:1 basis. For example, if the event is intended for 100 Thomas’s students, we aim to have another 100 young people in attendance from a range of backgrounds, giving all a chance to learn together and from each other. Opportunity is therefore not only shared via the 1:1 programme, but deepened for all participants.
PTA
The school teaches a roadmap for how relationships can work, a sense of family
The PTA runs a shop onsite, selling second-hand uniform and more to raise funds for the Thomas’s Foundation. Regular coffee mornings bring together parents in similar age groups. The PTA also organise regular social events, including hotly contested quizzes, and ensure that there are representatives for all cohorts. Parents within the Thomas’s College community feel they have a source of advice and support at each stage of their children’s journey.
The PTA is in touch with all new parents to welcome them to the community. Any parents who want to know more or have a chat are welcome to contact the School Office, who will put them in touch with the right contact at the PTA.
